KATT FORE celebrates the quiet strength of women who do it all. This month, we spoke to Pauline (@pauluschkaa) about womanhood and comfort.
Based in Berlin, Pauline has built her career in the world of costume design, where artistry meets storytelling. She shares her thoughts and creative insights through her Substack, pauluschkaa, offering a window into her perspective.
On what comforts her about being a woman
This is a good one. I genuinely love being a woman - I have no desire to know what it's like to be a man whatsoever. I find comfort in many different things, but mostly in my ability to feel emotions deeply.
On what comfort means to her
To be fully myself. When you really feel it, that's comfort. My husband is the only comfort I truly need in my life, but I also don't mind the comfort of Christmas time.
On the hardest part of being a woman
I personally haven't struggled much as a woman in my private life, I feel very privileged to be able to say that - yet I know it's definitely not like that for the majority of us. If I had to break it down to one thing that makes me question everything in this world, it's witnessing how women's voices are often not taken seriously. If they only knew how much we really know.
On grounding habits
Reading in the mornings, movement, early morning coffee, very slow Sundays, writing, and the simple act of breathing.
What she wears to feel her best
It has to be something comfortable - I love a coat to be wrapped in and a heel to walk in.
