Angelique Janssen

KATT FORE celebrates the quiet strength of women who do it all. This month, we sat down with Angelique Janssen, a web developer and creative whose journey has taken her from the sun-soaked shores of Aruba to the creative heart of Amsterdam. We first met over coffee a few weeks ago, and we instantly fell for her warm energy, her eye for beauty, and her thoughtful approach to design.

Angelique brings her refined aesthetic sensibility to every web design project she undertakes, weaving her distinctive sense of style into her work with diverse clients. There's a certain lightness and warmth to her designs that sets them apart. She thrives on building authentic connections with her collaborators, believing that the best work emerges from these genuine partnerships. Whether she's working with emerging female-led brands or established businesses, Angelique approaches each project with the same thoughtful attention to detail and creative vision.

On what keeps her grounded

Staying grounded can sometimes be easier or more difficult depending on the kind of week, or season. I feel like as we're easing into autumn/winter now, prioritising alone time is at the top of my list of ways to stay grounded.

Spending time alone is when I recharge, can let my mind wander and subtly work out whatever my mind has been fixated on. I can take my time to do things that feel good to me, no matter how big or tiny. Especially in the evenings, taking my time to get ready for bed, lighting some candles and really stretching my bedtime routine always allows me to catch a deep breath after any long day.

On exciting things she's working on

Oh! I think one of the things I'm most excited about, I would still like to keep to myself for now, but other than that (and to leave work out of the answer for now), I've recently been working on my "autumn self". I feel like every year with every new season, you get a little moment to stand still and think about how you would like to approach the upcoming months. What does my body need? What does my mind need a little extra of? How would I like to spend my days? I've been thinking about that a lot.

On deciding what to do when everything feels important

I am someone who can have an infinite list of notes and to do's, on my phone, on little pieces of paper at the bottom of my bags or scattered through my home. When everything feels important, I try not to overthink it and just be practical about I - what needs to be done first, what has the most priority, what will give me rest once I know it's been done and finished? I try to get things like that out of the way first, so I can continue with ease.

On her most dreamy fall look

Every year I come back to my favourite staples - the softest (and warmest!) knits by extreme cashmere, paired with a knee length skirt (if the weather allows) or a good pair of jeans (I'm currently eyeing a pair from Lemaire). Either way, paired with my KATT FORE High Cut boots, of course ;)

On what to wear to feel sparkly

My style doesn't really drastically change between day or night, but to dress it up I love to overdo it on the jewellery and accessories - a bolder necklace and earrings, many statement rings, a more sultry perfume and a slightly darker lip usually does it for me.
